ETHICAL VALUES IN SCHOOL ADMINISTRATION IN NIGERIA: ISSUES AND CHALLENGES FOR SUSTAINABLE NATIONAL DEVELOPMENT

Abstract

This study examines the significance of ethical values in school administration in Nigeria for Sustainable National Development. The study highlights issues and challenges facing school administrators in upholding ethical values for sustainable national development in Nigeria. The paper emphasizes the importance of ethical leadership, transparency, integrity and accountability in promoting a positive school culture and ensuring quality education. The study also identifies key issues, such as resources constraints, cultural and societal, school climate corruption, favoritism, and lack of accountability and neglects the need for training and support to enhance administrators' ethical decision-making that promotes organization goals and objectives. Future research should focus on developing transparent, fair, and inclusive ethical leadership training that align with supporting achievement of educational goals in Nigeria.
