Abstract

The main purpose of this study is to examine the correlation between classroom situation and students’ academic achievement in Obudu Local Government Area of Cross River State: Implication for supervision. The study adopted correlational research design. The population of the study comprises of all the secondary schools teachers in the study area, 100 teachers were randomly selected. The instrument used for data collection was the questionnaire titled: Classrooms Situation and Students’ Academic Achievement Questionnaire (CSSAAQ). The instrument was validated through face and content validity with the reliability co-efficient of 0.72. The data collected was analyzed using simple linear regression Statistics of 0.05 level of significance. The result of the analysis shows a positive and significant relationship between classroom situation and secondary schools student academic achievement in Obudu Local Government Area of Cross River State. The study further revealed that availability of classroom has a positive relationship with students’ academic achievement. It was recommended that public secondary school principals in the study area should be mindful of 
the number of enrolments in the school to ensure that the available classroom will be enough to accommodate the students for better productivity and good learning outcomes.
