ADMINISTRATION OF SCHOOL BUSINESS VENDORS' ACTIVITIES FOR SUSTAINABLE UNIVERSITY VALUE SYSTEM IN NIGERIA
Abstract
Nigeria's university landscape is undergoing a significant transformation, driven by a collective mission to establish institutions that serve as premier learning hubs and exemplars of ethical and sustainable progress. A crucial aspect of this dynamic ecosystem is the community of school business vendors. Their contributions significantly enhance the daily experiences of students, staff, and visitors. However, these vendors often operate under loosely defined regulations, leading to inconsistent standards and conflicts with the university’s core values. This paper addresses these issues and proposes strategies for effective vendor management. This paper delves into efficiently managing school business vendors to reinforce Nigeria's sustainable university value system. It highlights these vendors' essential roles and addresses the challenges of regulating their operations. Furthermore, it offers thoughtful strategic models to integrate their activities into institutional governance. By incorporating insights from recent developments, policy analyses, and academic viewpoints, we present actionable recommendations to align vendor practices with the broader objectives of Nigerian higher education. Our goal is to empower educational administrators, planners, and stakeholders to leverage effective vendor management to bolster institutional integrity, enhance student welfare, and promote sustainable development. Together, we can create a thriving academic environment that benefits everyone.
