THE LAW, ETHICS AD VALUES AS PANACEA FOR EFFECTIVE SCHOOL ADMINISTRATION IN NIGERIA.

Abstract

In the school system effective school administration is essential. One of the means for accomplishing educational goals and objectives is through effective school administration. To achieve effective school administration in Nigeria schools, adequate application of the element of laws, ethics and values is imperative and therefore warrants serious attention. The paper reviewed the concepts of law, ethics, values and school administration. Various ways by which laws, ethics and values can improve school administration were advanced and discussed. It was concluded that adequate application of the ingredients of education laws, professional ethics and values in school administration is a panacea for effective school administration. Finally, the paper suggested among others that the education agency should from time to time review the existing code of ethics and laws as they relates to school administration to meet the prevailing circumstances.
