UTILIZATION OF ARTIFICIAL INTELLIGENCE IN THE MANAGEMENT OF VALUE EDUCATION IN PUBLIC SECONDARY SCHOOLS IN RIVERS STATE.

Abstract

The study focused on Utilization of Artificial Intelligence in the Management of Value Education in Public Senior Secondary schools in River State. The descriptive research design was adopted for the study, two research questions and two hypotheses guided the study, the population of the study comprised of 8142 teachers in public senior secondary schools in Rivers State with a sample of 382 130 male and 250 female teachers in line with taro yemen sampling techniques. The instrument used for data collection was titled Utilization of Artificial Intelligence in the Management of Value Education in Public Senior Secondary Schools in River state questionnaire (YAIMVEPSCQ). The validated instrument has a reliability co efficient of 0.79, the data generated via the instrument were analyzed to answer the questions using mean and standard deviation, whereas the hypotheses were tested using z- test statistical test at 0.05 alpha level. The findings of the study revealed that teachers awareness on the use of AI technologies in teaching value education in public senior secondary schools in River state is high with the aggregate mean score of 2.71 for female respondents and 2.55 for male respondents. Recommendations made among others included that; the government should formulate a comprehensive policy that will boast teachers training in AI tools, provide constant electricity, and integrate AI tools in value education. In addition, the ministry of education should liase with educational stakeholders to assist in enforcement of facility provision stipulations
